A stent crimping machine compresses balloon-expandable stents, thereby attaching the stent to the balloon catheter. Stent crimpers are generally comprised of two parts: the “compression station” – a mechanism that provides a variable-diameter, cylinder-shaped opening – and the “machine base” that controls the process. These machines also serve as general-purpose radial compression machines for various other applications. They can have a film sheathing option that protects fragile product surfaces during crimping.

Simple, Manually Controlled Pneumatic Actuation Stent Crimpers

These stent crimpers are the same compression stations as the CX stent crimping machine, but do not provide computerized control or timing. The force is adjusted by setting the regulated air pressure, and diameter is adjusted by a stop-screw. A toggle valve opens and closes the compression station.
