Dual Product Option – Allows you to process two balloons at once. The patent pending track design has a bypass position enabling the second product carrier to move by effortlessly.

Simpluer Light

Pneumatic connectors have a specially designed ring light to indicate status and to make sequencing crystal clear. The light is shaped so that it is visible from the front of the machine. Colors change to indicate the recipe status of the balloon.

Pressure Manifold

Each pneumatic connector is powered by an independent instrument quality electronic pressure regulator. These specially designed regulators are fit with micron filters on the inlet and outlet so foreign material can’t interrupt valve operation. Valves are rated for billions of cycles so downtime is minimized.

Control Board

High-performance control system delivers unprecedented stability and reliability of process parameters. Hardened electronic circuits are designed for years of trouble-free operation.

Pleating dies are custom designed based on your balloon specifications.  Every pleat and compression station is expertly designed and built resulting in Blockwise’s industry-leading precision and reliability. Forming dies are crafted from certified, hardened stainless steel and electropolished for optimum surface finish and corrosion resistance.

Carrier for VC2

A product carrier on a manually-powered linear slide holds the catheter and allows the operator to quickly align the balloon catheter to control which parts of the product are pleated and compressed.

A touchscreen HMI (human-machine interface) allows the user to enter settings in “recipes” that specify a set of parameters for the balloon wrapping process. Pressure calibration and gauge checks are easy. Manual mode allows direct commands without a recipe. Engineering, maintenance, and manual functions can be password-protected.

The VC2 builds on the legacy of the VC wrapper, which is now in service at hundreds of balloon catheter companies worldwide.

The pleat station open-stop indicator is easily calibrated without reference instruments. The pressure and temperature readouts may be checked using customer-supplier reference instruments. The manual includes step-by-step instructions.

The VC2 machine requires no maintenance. The pleating and compression mechanisms also require no maintenance – just keep them clean. Do not use in a dusty or dirty environment, and blow with compressed air. Clean the center opening with 99% isopropyl alcohol on a lint-free swab or cloth.

  • Model VC2G for Alpha-Pleat™ Station

    Blockwise’s production-proven air-actuated balloon wrapping (aka folding) machine for pleating and compressing catheter balloons.

    The Model VC2G, with its smaller base plate, accommodates Alpha-Pleat™ stations for balloons up to 14 mm diameter and up to 124 mm overall length. Designed especially for PTCA-sized balloon wrapping, the patented Alpha-Pleat™ station has EDM-cut stainless steel dies that are self-guided by extremely precise bearing balls, resulting in unparalleled geometric accuracy with virtually zero wear. The J-Crimp™ compression station relies on non-contacting dies with very small die-to-die gaps.

    The Model VC2T uses a larger base plate that can accommodate the larger Twin-Cam pleating and Red Crimp compression stations, for balloons larger than 14 mm diameter or 124 mm in length. The patented Twin-Cam™ mechanism ensures reliable and consistent pleating, no die-to-die wear, and uniform temperature distribution. The Red Crimp features stainless steel dies that are guided by extremely precise bearing balls, resulting in near-perfect geometrical accuracy.
