Balloon Molds

Blockwise makes ordering balloon molds fast and simple with standardized mold shapes and online mold specification.

Standard-shaped balloon molds – conical or spherical – are quick and easy to specify by filling out the mold request form with your required dimensions. No drawings or CAD models are required.

Custom balloon shapes can easily be manufactured by sending a drawing or model with the desired geometry.

The Model FF balloon forming machine uses inductive heating technology to heat the balloon molds. Blockwise molds use a proprietary coating that works with the induction system to add heat energy evenly. Every mold is measured and acceptance tested for temperature uniformity. Third-party molds cannot be used with the Model FF machine.

Blockwise balloon mold end plugs are uniquely designed and engineered with thermal conduction in mind.

Radial vent technology maximizes the contacting surface area, ensuring efficient heat transfer between mold center and end plug.

End plug shape is designed to reduce thermal mass so that the cones heat quickly and reach the mold center temperature.

Blockwise balloon molds are precisely manufactured to ensure concentricity, excellent thermal performance, and smooth assembly.

Calibration molds can be ordered for each size induction heating module. These tools are designed to make temperature calibration easy to perform and create a consistent standard across all heating modules. Calibrating modules with the Blockwise calibration molds ensures repeatable heating profiles for every balloon mold, enabling the operator to move setups from one machine to the next without a change in recipe behavior.

Serialized mold centers and end plugs allow Blockwise to quickly provide detailed dimension, inspection, and purchase history for customer validation and record-keeping.

Descriptive part numbers allows operators to quickly identify mold components and relevant dimensions.

Balloon molds can be cleaned and sanitized regularly with IPA. If needed, molds can be hand-washed with a light detergent, such as dish soap. More rigorous cleaning can be accomplished with an ultrasonic bath and detergent, such as AC100.

Molds can be returned to Blockwise for mechanical polishing or modifications to mold dimensions.

    B012 small balloon molds are used for mold center bore cavities between 0 – 14 mm in diameter. They are used with IMS induction heating modules. Each B012 is a complete mold set, which includes the mold center, 2 end plugs, 2 end caps, and spacer. The mold centers are made from Moldstar 90 and the end plugs are made from Moldstar 150 high-conductivity copper alloy.
