Using the same precise, low-friction compression stations as the CX machine, the model RJ can achieve good crimping results without electronics. This simple machine controls the pressure level and toggles open/close an air-actuated compression station.

A complete crimping machine includes a Model RJ machine base and a radial compression station. Model RJ is compatible with a variety of Blockwise radial compression stations, which are chosen based on 1) diameter range, 2) length range, 3) radial force range, and 4) die material.

An air cylinder with adjustable pressure opens and closes the compression station. A stop screw limits the closing diameter, allowing a choice of force (pressure regulator) or diameter (stop screw) control. Knowledge Base: Crimping Diameter and Force Control

The RJ’s controls are easy to understand and use. There are no electronics (except with the heating option). A toggle valve opens or closes the compression station. The closing is limited by either an adjustable stop screw or by a force balance against your product sample, adjustable via the pressure regulator / gauge.

An optional heater control box controls the die temperature of metal-die compression stations. Temperature control is not available with plastic-die compression stations..

Model RJ with J-Crimp™ Compression Station

Blockwise’s workhorse compression station for a decade, with hundreds in service. For medium-sized general-purpose crimping, the RJ with J-Crimp™ provides good force or diameter control and very small die-to-die gaps. No die-to-die wear, proven superior durability.

Model RJ with Zero-G™ Compression Station

The Zero-G™ mechanism has been the heart of Blockwise’s plastic-die stations for a decade. Die-on-die contact throughout the motion results in zero gap and lower die tip flex. Friction is moderate. As with all plastic-die radial compression mechanisms, the die tips can wear from high-pressure contact with stents.
