Blockwise’s 6-jaw general-purpose short crimpers are used a wide variety of applications. These compact and powerful devices use Blockwise’s patent pending Zero-G™ Technology which eliminates flash-inducing gaps while providing a large diameter range (0.1mm to 5mm) with one device. The hardened stainless-steel dies have a standard working length of 6mm and can be reduced to accommodate narrow products. Both the open and closed stops are adjustable.
There are two different types of short crimpers: Center Loading and Top-Loading.
Center-Loading
The Blockwise Short Crimpers (patented) are 6-jaw radial compression mechanisms that can radially compress parts such as marker bands, electrical or mechanical ferrules, or steel tubing or bands as part of an assembly process. Parts are formed into a hexagonal shape by the 6 jaws. Compared to collet crimpers, the Blockwise short crimpers cover a wide diameter range without tooling changes and provide a crimp with less flash. The mechanism uses Blockwise “Zero-G™” technology, eliminating gaps between the dies.

Top Loading
The Blockwise Top-Loading Crimper (patented) is a 6-jaw radial compression mechanism with a slot that allows the parts to be loaded radially. The slot opens automatically as the crimper is actuated beyond the fully-open position. The crimper is used to radially compress parts such as marker bands, electrical or mechanical ferrules, or steel tubing or bands as part of an assembly process. Parts are formed into a hexagonal shape by the 6 jaws. Compared to collet crimpers, the Blockwise top-loading short crimpers cover a wide diameter range without tooling changes and provide a crimp with less flash. The mechanism uses Blockwise “Zero-G™” technology, eliminating gaps between the dies.
